Let's face it: the world isn't always butterflies and rainbows. Maybe you'll be one of the lucky ones and your friends and family will be utterly elated for you when you show off your new bling. However, for most women recently labeled "bride-to-be", that's not the case.
Be prepared for a wide variety of reactions... everything from pure jealously (which, could quite possibly be perceived as 'hate') to tears of joy and all the emotions that fall between.
This is normal, on both parts. Your friends want to be happy for you (and, they probably are... deep down) but, for them it's a very unsubtle reminder things are changing and it can be hard to deal.
